| Depart from the hotel to the pier and take the long-tail boat up to the Mae Kok river to the Karen village (50 minutes). Then ride the elephant for 30 minutes around the village and return the long-tail boat to Chiang Rai. Lunch at the restaurant beside the river. Proceed through the northern most point at Mae Sai for lunch and for shopping on the Thai-Myanmar border. After that go straight to Golden Triangle, Opium House at bends of the mighty Maekhong River and see the scenery view of three countries (Thai, Myanmar and Laos). Visit the ancient city of Chiang Saen, where ruins of numerous temples, stupas, Buddha images are still to be seen and artifacts and archaeological finds exhibited at the National Museum. Return to the hotel |
